Powder Puff Football

Justin was never one that wanted to participate in high school sports. Actually none of my children have been real fond of the idea - probably because I did not start them in sports on the grade school or junior high level while many of their friends were learning some of the skills.  However, this last week I got to go watch one of my kids in a football game! Shelby participated in the Powder Puff Football game this last week. The seniors and sophomores played against the juniors and freshmen. The game was won by the Senior/Sophomore team 19-13. It was the first time the girls Shelby's age had won so they were pretty excited.

During the game Shelby played a "lineman" and was right across from a girl that is pretty "sturdy".  This girl put her hands on Shelby's shoulders and just pushed - the boys on the sideline that were coaching them decided she needed to be in a different location after that.  She was able to play for quite awhile and it was fun to watch.

If I recall correctly however, Candy played in a game as well when she was in High School - so I guess I can rely on my girls for some football entertainment!  :)
