It was Shelby's birthday yesterday and she is now 15 years old. I asked her if she wanted to go to town and pick out what she wanted or if she wanted to be surprised. She preferred to go to town. We went to town on Saturday so she got her gifts while we were in town. (She got five shirts and a pair of camo colored capris) We took advantage of the good sales at JC Penneys and she is now ready (for the most part) for school. Her only other request was Krab Salad and we picked some of that up at Walmart on the way home. She's not too hard to make happy. Anyway, we had cake (angel food cake) yesterday for her birthday and did the normal birthday cake pose but we got different poses from Shelby than we normally would get - -
Which girl are you used to seeing, this one?

Or this one?

Shelby is probably more like her Dad than any of my other kids. She is very laid back and doesn't care what anyone thinks of her. She is rather quiet in some circumstances, but as you can see by the pictures - - she can be a little crazy too! She started volleyball last year and did pretty well considering it was her first year. She received a "most improved" award at a banquet we had no idea about and didn't attend. Do you have children like that? Forget to tell you when there is something you need to go to? She does that too...
On another subject - -
We went camping last week. Actually it was just for one night. We had to fix a gate and see if our camper actually worked. We left our house at about 8 pm and didn't get to our camping site til about 9:30. By the time we got to our camp site it was dark. We found out what DIDNT work in our camper - - the lights. Apparently the battery needs to be replaced. So thankfully we had flashlights and were able to get dinner ready (late) and get to bed by flashlight and Justin's battery operated computer.
The sunset was pretty on the way up. . .
